Scott Peterson trial ends on election day?

Tue Oct 12, 2004 at 10:54:37 AM PDT

Good grief. This story already takes up too much time on cable news. I had hoped it would be finished before the election so that more time is spent on things that actually matter to the vast majority of Americans. Everytime the news talks about this case, they lose time they could be talking about the direction our country is headed (Iraq, economy, healthcare, etc).

Judge Delays Scott Peterson Trial

The judge told jurors closing arguments should be presented Nov. 1 and 2, and that the case should go to jurors Nov. 3.
I haven't followed this case because I don't see how it is more important than the many other murder cases across the country. But I am curious as to how this changes the news cycle.
